Daniel Otzoy García is a Guatemalan computer engineer with advanced studies in information technology, health informatics, and information systems. He currently serves as the Executive Director and Project Manager for the Caribbean, Central America, and North America at RECAINSA (Central American Network for Health Informatics), where he plays a key role in steering the organization.
Additionally, he is a digital health technical advisor at the John Snow, Inc. Research and Training Institute and a course leader for Harvard University's program "Leading Digital Transformation in Healthcare."
He has specialized in digital transformation, public health, and digital health. With over 20 years of experience, he has implemented digital health projects across Latin America and the Caribbean, funded by international development agencies, United Nations agencies, and multilateral organizations, and has published numerous scientific and academic articles.
He has been recognized by the HIMSS Future50 community, which identifies, celebrates, and connects leading digital health professionals who have made significant contributions to the field worldwide. He has also made notable contributions through his participation in conferences such as the OpenHIE General Meeting and the 7th GCC eHealth Workforce Development, among many others.
