Luis Eliécer Cadenas, a Venezuelan computer engineer with postgraduate studies in economics, telematics, networks, and computer science, currently serves as the Executive Director of the Latin American Cooperation of Advanced Networks, RedCLARA.
With nearly 30 years of experience in the information technology and telecommunications sectors in both the private and public spheres, he co-founded and served as president and board member of Venezuela's national academic network, REACCIUN, where he played a key role between 1996 and 2000. He also served as president of the Latin American Association of Research Networks (Enredo, 1998-1999), was a board member of the National Supercomputing Center of Venezuela (Cecalcula, 1997-1999), and of the Sartenejas Technology Park (1997-1999).
Cadenas led the strategy for Cisco's Networking Academy Program (2000-2006), held positions as Public Sector Account Manager for Venezuela (2006-2009), Service Provider Account Manager (2009-2013), and later as Account Manager for Claro Central America at Cisco before taking on the leadership of RedCLARA.
He is widely recognized for his expertise in academic networks and his contributions to the Latin American ICT ecosystem.
