With the aim of contributing to the issues that jeopardise the role and work of the Directors of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) of universities in the region, since the beginning of 2011, the Network of Directors of Information and Communication Technologies of Latin American universities has been building a space for action that seeks to contribute to the continuous improvement of their institutions. The TICAL Conference is the space where this community meets, which is mainly nourished by the experiences, initiatives and knowledge presented by the universities themselves, providing significant and unprecedented solutions in higher education institutions from the ICT area, in the areas of university work.

In its 2024 edition, TICAL will offer a space for discussion and strategic exchange of experiences developed from RedCLARA's member national networks as part of the regional objectives for strengthening science, technology and innovation, will promote the identification of common challenges and opportunities posed by the digital transformation for the economic and social development of Latin America and the Caribbean, and will seek to determine the key elements for building a common development agenda based on digital.
