Ana Alves is Portuguese and joined GÉANT in October 2017 as a Data Protection Officer (DPO). Over time, she advanced within the growing Cybersecurity team, and in 2022, she was appointed Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).

She is currently the Security Coordinator for the GN5-1 project and will soon take on the role of Task Leader 1—compliance for the GN5-2 project. She also leads and coordinates the Security Bootcamps project.

Before joining GÉANT, Ana worked as an ISO 27001 Consultant and Auditor, gaining extensive experience in information security management. She specializes in Security/Cybersecurity, Risk Management, and Data Protection.
