Nelson Simões da Silva is a Computer Engineer with a Master's in Communication Policy. He currently serves as the General Director of the National Research and Education Network (RNP). Throughout his extensive career, he was an advisor to the Internet Steering Committee in Brazil, elected as a representative of the scientific and technological community from 2002 to 2010, and continues to hold this position at the Brazilian Cinematheque and other organizations. Additionally, he was the director of the Latin American Cooperation of Advanced Networks (RedCLARA) from 2003 to 2014.
