Rosalina Vázquez

Staff Member and Researcher at Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí

Rosalina Vázquez Tapia is a Mexican professional with a degree in Computer Systems Engineering, a Master’s in Educational Technology, and a Ph.D. in Training in the Knowledge Society. She specializes in open access and open science, institutional repositories and libraries, research management systems (CRIS), digital/open educational resources, historical and cultural heritage, and copyright management in digital environments. She has held various leadership positions at the Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí (UASLP), where she currently serves as a staff member and researcher.

Additionally, she collaborates with several national and international organizations in coordinating committees, networks, projects, and working groups focused on open access, educational technologies, libraries, repositories, and digital educational resources. She has published numerous works in peer-reviewed conferences and delivered multiple presentations, workshops, and lectures. She has also been the author, evaluator, and technical lead for significant institutional and national research projects funded by public institutions.

In her academic career, she has been the founder and General Coordinator of the Mexican Network of Institutional Repositories (REMERI) and the Coordinator of the REMERI community within CUDI. She is also the technical lead for the Mexican node of the Latin American Open Science Network – LA Referencia. Additionally, she is a member of the permanent Scientific Committee of the BIREDIAL-ISTEC International Conference, a member of the International Project Los Primeros Libros de las Américas – PLA, and an affiliated member of EuroCRIS and COAR. She has coordinated the Collaborative Team's Educational Technology and Digital Services axis for the Digital Transformation of Education (EduTraDi) under the Repository and Educational Resources Commission of the Mexican Association of Universities and Higher Education Institutions (ANUIES).

The Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí recognized her with the Academic Merit Award for the best research project submitted to the 2017 Mexican National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT) public call.

In line with the objectives of the EU-LAC Digital Alliance and the the BELLA II project led by RedCLARA, TICAL provides a forum for strategic dialogue and exchange of experiences among the NRENs members of RedCLARA on strengthening regional science, technology, and innovation; promotes the identification of common challenges and opportunities of digital transformation for the economic and social development of Latin America and the Caribbean, and seeks to identify the cornerstones for building a common development agenda based on digital.
