Academic Relations Manager of the Latin American Cooperation of Advanced Networks (RedCLARA). Coordinator of the University Telemedicine Network of Latin America and the Caribbean (RUTE-AL).

Tania Altamirano López is a Nicaraguan residing in Chile. She is a Social Communicator with a master’s degree in Social Communication specializing in journalism direction and editing. Currently, she serves as the Academic Relations Manager for the Latin American Cooperation of Advanced Networks (RedCLARA), making significant progress in coordinating initiatives in priority areas such as e-Health, Climate Change, and Education, as well as developing participation strategies for the BELLA II Project (Building the Europe Link to Latin America and the Caribbean). Additionally, she is the Coordinator of the University Telemedicine Network of Latin America and the Caribbean (RUTE-AL), where she also leads the Regional Gender Committee.

In line with the objectives of the EU-LAC Digital Alliance and the the BELLA II project led by RedCLARA, TICAL provides a forum for strategic dialogue and exchange of experiences among the NRENs members of RedCLARA on strengthening regional science, technology, and innovation; promotes the identification of common challenges and opportunities of digital transformation for the economic and social development of Latin America and the Caribbean, and seeks to identify the cornerstones for building a common development agenda based on digital.
